Makerere University political science lecturer and analyst Dr. Sabiti Makara says the victory of opposition parties on different elective positions in urban areas is a sign to government that electorates here are disgruntled in terms of service delivery. Giving an example of the youth that constitute the biggest percentage in urban settings, Makara says these are unemployed hence yearning for a change of government with anticipation of getting jobs in new leadership.
This as he presented a paper on the post elections at the Center for Basic Research center in Kololo where he as well notes increased victory of oppositions in future given the urbanization that continues to grow. Meanwhile, Makara says president Museveni has no powers of denying services to any Ugandan even if they did not vote for him. This as he responded to what president Museveni has repeatedly said when he cautioned electorates against electing opposition leaders saying by doing so the public will not get services.
