The Government chief whip Ruth Nankabirwa is worried that with the size of the 10th parliament, members will not be able to put across the issues affecting their constituents because they will have little time to debate. Nankabirwa was responding on what she makes of the quality of debate of the house.
She however notes that her office will make arrangements to see that most of the debate takes place in various committees, warning members of NRM that they will be removed from certain committee if they do not perform. The size of parliament has been increased from 375 members in the 9th parliament to 458 in the next parliament which starts in may this year.
