Parliament approves recommendation to appoint minister of Kampala

Parliament approved a recommendation demanding government to urgently appoint substantive minister of Kampala instead of being under the minister of presidency. The report by the parliamentary committee on presidential Affairs to parliament said that it is becoming practically impossible for one minister to adequately pay attention to all the issues for presidency and Kampala.

Now the minister for presidency Frank Tumwebaze who is currently in charge of supervising KCCA  headed by the Executive Director Jeniffer Musisi Semakula is going to receive 561.3 billion shillings for the financial year 2016/17.
The MPs also recommended that public Accounts committee should be constituted with immediate effect to carryout
internal oversight functions on its operations in KCCA.
