Buyaga EAST member of parliament has vowed to block the funds for purchasing a machine detecting Pornography worth 2.6 Billion shilling in the Ethics Ministry under the office of the president for the Financial Year 2016/17. Father Simon Lokodo, the Minister for Ethics and Integrity, sparked uproar after he announced that his ministry was preparing to procure a pornography detecting software.
Buyaga West MP Barnabas Tinkasimire vows to oppose this budget proposal when resented during the debate. He says the fund should be allocated to faith-based churches and Mosques because they are capable of sensitizing the community against pornography and preaching against it. Tinkasimire says the minister’s morals are double and he is not fit to head Ethics ministry; he’s been implicated in the media for immorality. He opposes Father Lokodo’s actions of threatening to arrest Dr. Stella Nyanzi who undressed protesting eviction from her office at Makerere Institute of Social Research. He says Fr. Lokodo should sit with Dr. Nyanzi to listen to her instead of accusing her which is not a solution.
