Out patients who get health services at Mulago National Referral Hospital have today been seen stranded after reaching the gates of the hospital to find huge notices that the services they have been getting from Mulago have been relocated to Kirrudu hospital in Makindye as Mulago Hospital under goes renovation.
Some of the patients we happened to speak to at the hospital expressed misery and anger over the changes saying they were not informed about the relocation of service to other health facilities round Kampala and many of the out patients state that they fear that even when they visit kiludu, they will not be able to access the very services they have been getting here at Mulago.
However, the health facility spokesman, Enock Kusasira confirms that between 2000 to 4000 out patients who have been accessing services from Mulago have been relocated to Kirrudu hospital as they wait relocated in patients to these facilities.
Kusasira also says, cases to do with surgery, pediatrics among other complicated health cases are offered from upper Mulago and all medical services are have been shifted to Kirrudu as they soon plan to shift pediatrics health services to Kawempe after completion.
