Group 115, headed by Kampala central Member of Parliament Mohammed Nsereko, is in close talks with the opposition and government sides in parliament to secure leadership of some of parliamentary committees. The group which was spearheaded after Mohammed Nsereko lost the bid for the deputy speakership seat on 19th this month is going on with secret meetings to make headway on many issues the members have desired to achieve.
Sources now reveal that this group wants especially independent members of parliament to head 8 of the parliamentary committees, some to be in the ruling government cabinet and others to be appointed as shadow ministers in the opposition cabinet. Group 115 is also in advanced stages as per now in arranging a meeting with the head of state to voice their concerns as the new government is being put in place. The reliable sources have also told us that this Group 115 has put in place leadership whereby it is headed by Mohammed Nsereko, choosing Bukedea woman MP Anita Among as the chairperson, Buyaga west MP Barnabus Tinkasimiire as the chief whip of the group, and the National Female Youth MP Anna Adeke Ebaju is now the secretary General.
The source further disclosed that the group spent most of its time Tuesday in a closed meeting at parliament strategizing on how they can conduct themselves in parliament to push for some of their aspirations in the 10th parliament.
Group 115 was formed as a pressure group using the number of votes Kampala central MP got when he contested for the post of the deputy speaker.
