Chairperson Lubega Wagwa

THE Education Service Commission has  warned the public to guard against fraudsters who are soliciting money from them in the pretext of getting them short listed for the post of head teachers and deputy head teachers in government schools. The chairperson of the  commission Lubega Wagwa says that the commission is looking at appointing  221 head teachers and 593 deputy head teachers in the four centers of  Kampala, Mbarara, Gulu and Mbale  but many of these unsuspecting  applicants have been taken advantage of by con-men who have been sending them messages requesting for money to be short listed.

Wagwa says that the commission performs its duties through transparency, impartiality, honesty and efficiency and hence no one should feel the need to bribe the chairperson of the commission as he has no mandate to appoint people to serve as members of the commission. Wagwa adds that the number of jobs that was advertised depended on the resource envelope that was provided by the Ministry of education and more will be appointed if funds are availed.
