Busoga members of parliament have asked the NRM party members not to be diverted and divided by the accumulated wealth of the party secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba. This follows claims that Kasule Lumumba be investigated over diversion of the party funds meant for campaigns in the last national general elections.
Speaking to journalists at parliament the members of Busoga sub region led by the Member of Parliament for Bukoli central Solomon Silwany and Budiope west MP Robert Musoke said that the media reports that implicates Kasule Lumumba in stealing the party funds to her own wealth creation are false, saying that she got her wealth from funds of her 15 years political career.
Members of Busoga who include mp for Budiape west Robert Musoke ,Bugiri district woman mp Agnes Taaka Wejuli,woman mp for Buyende district Babirye Kadogo and Kigulu south member of parliament Andrew Kaluya said that it will be unfortunate for the party to make a decision to remove Kasule Lumumba the party secretary general when she has served for just 8 months in office. Busoga MPs called on the president to intervene in this matter to save the party secretary General.
