Ugandans have been asked to fast and pray for their families considering the serious and numerous attacks the family unit is currently facing in the Country and across the world.
Dr. James Magala, board member of the Uganda Jubilee Network, says that challenges of unstable marriages, marriage break-ups and absence of parents to children among others threaten the family Unity and subsequently the entire society of Uganda.
Speaking ahead of the launch of the National Solemn Prayer campaign that starts on the 19th of August to the 7th of October , Magala emphasized that the need for families to pray together to ensure harmony and unity with the family setting which will result into a more stable country.
Assistant Bishop at All Saints Church Nakasero, Hannington Mutebi, says this year’s 50 days of prayer and fasting will be based on the theme “Praying for full manifestation of God’s kingdom in the family sphere of Uganda’s society by 2062”.“Pray
Mutebi said considering the impact of prayer, Uganda will be a much better society by 2062 as it celebrates its 100th anniversary because of the foundation of prayer now being established.
Meanwhile, Pastor Franco Onaga, of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God-Uganda has said Ugandans should not blame church leaders for not giving a blind eye to the political issues and different challenges the country is facing but that they have opted for prayer and more strategic engagements with the relevant authorities.
