The Parliamentary Committee on Education has recommended Ministry of Education to reconsider feeding in UPE and USE schools.
This followed concerns from members of parliament that Uganda’s education is on verge of collapse especially in government aided schools which do not offer lunch to Pupils that this makes it difficult for pupils to understand what is taught.
Moses Kasibante, the Lubaga North MP says government should allow parents to pay a small fee to feed learners than it claiming that they do not have funds to facilitate the process.
However, the Minister of Education in charge of primary education, Rosemary Sseninde has said the proposal is already an on-going consideration and that with effect from next term, parents may start paying feeding fee but not school fees.
