The Minister of Ethics and Integrity father Simon Lokodo, says that leaders should have no excuses when they face problems with the Inspector General of Government (IGG) over wealth declaration.

Lokodo says that the additional new method of leaders declaring their wealth online will cause no delays.

He says that in the past, leaders have been failing to declare their wealth on time on argument that they could not reach the offices where declaration forms are required due to the long distance.

The deadline for leaders to declare their wealth expires on 30th this month

Under the new system, all public officials will be required to list all their earnings, properties and any other assets they own electronically three months after taking leadership positions.

The online system is one step further in ongoing attempts to cure the rampant corruption tendencies, a vice that has become synonymous with public offices and figures.
