The Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries has finalized a policy which will regulate dealers and manufactures of fertilizers in the country.
This was revealed by, Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja, the Minister for Agriculture while meeting importers of fertilizers from the export trading group based in Namanve industrial area.
Ssempijja says that the policy already approved by cabinet will limit the number of companies importing and manufacturing fertilizers in a bid to stop its adulteration.
The minister also added that those who will be licensed to deal in fertilizers will be required to follow its distribution up to the end users.
The regional manager export trading group, Ashishi Jassal, said that Ugandan farmers are the lowest uses of fertilizers in the region ,fearing to buy fake ones yet they need to use them to increase on their produce.
