The director research and graduate training at Makerere University, Prof. Buyinza Mukadasi, has urged government to consider putting in place research based policies that can help the country tackle some of its problems.

Speaking at the review of the research partnership between Makerere University and the Swedish government where a total of USD3.5M has been extended to Makerere for the research projects in the past five years.

Prof. Buyinza says they are to use this one to carry out research on a number of things that affect the communities in aspects of health, economy, education among other fields as a way to change the well being of Ugandans and the nation.

He further stresses that for the next five years they plan to churn out over 250 PHD holders who will help in carrying out more research across the country.
