The health monitoring Unit has revealed that since its inception it has made recoveries of medicine, health supplies, equipment and cash embezzled worth over Shs 15 billion. Addressing journalists at the media center the director health monitoring unit Dr. Jackson Ojera Abusu added that shs 3billion of hard cash was recovered and has since been remitted to the consolidated fund.
Abusu says that the unit also managed to follow up and recovered GAVI funds worth Shs 846M which was unaccounted for from 80 districts further adding that more shs 13billion funds meant for polio and measles vaccination programs was also recovered. Meantime in the August, the Health monitoring unit managed to recover unaccounted for Baylor funds worth Sharing 13M in the Teso region in the districts of Kaberamaido, Serere DLG, Vision Terudo in Ngora, and Kumi.
