The fate of local council election remains unknown after electoral commission saying that they also await directions from the court.
The High Court Registrar, Sarah Langa on 13 November issued an interim order restraining EC and the Attorney General from organizing and or conducting the village council elections since senior sic students were left out.
Addressing journalist at the EC commission, the acting chairperson hajjat Aisha Lubega says that at the time of an interim order, the commission had already spent over 6bn out of the budgeted 15billion for the whole exercise.
She notes that if the commission directed for fresh registration of voters who had not registered, they will require extra money to conduct the registration and display of registers.
She however notes that the commission cannot decide as to when to resume the exercise unless court directs so.
