Maracha woman MP Rose Ayaka Atima wants the government to fulfill its pledge of constructing a health center 4 in the district to improve access to essential healthcare services.
Ayaka says though every constituency in a district is entitled a health facility at the level of a health centre 4, Maracha does not have health center 4’s in its two constituencies despite having been created in 2006.
She noted that as parliament embarks on the budget appropriation process, there is need to allocate funds towards the improvement of health services in the district.
The MP explains that the risk of mortality in the district has increased due to the long walking distance to hospitals in other districts and Arua regional Referral hospital.
