Police at Jinja Road has kicked off investigations into the accusation of sexual harassment by one self-styled Diplomat Khamis Ali who heads the UNHCR team at Lamwo refugee camp who is now detained at this very station.

Khamis, a Tanzanian National, is accused of sodomising a number of girls in kitgum causing some to develop harsh health conditions.

According to the mp of Kitgum municipality Beatrice Atim Anywar who brought this case in light explains that khamis’ case had been reported to police three weeks back and now his file has been moved from Gulu regional police to Jinja road on orders of the CID boss Grace Akulo.

Anywar singled out one Achan Jeniffer aged 22 who is currently hospitalized in Kampala but in a sorry state passing out stool uncontrollably.

She is optimistic that now this diplomat’s case will progress to courts of law for justice to prevail.

Achan is reported to have been a hotel attendant at one restaurant in kitgum where khamis went there frequently until he seduced her for a higher paying job only to end up a victim of sodomy.
