On Sunday Zinedine Zidane was enjoying his new free time by watching the French Open final at Roland Garros with Rafa Nadal winning his 11th title.
The former Real Madrid coach also spoke about his future, admitting that he has no plans.
“I’m resting and I don’t know what I’m going to do,” he told journalists.
“What’s important is the decision that I took.
“We will see what happens afterwards.”
Zidane was at an event in Saint-Denis, close to the Stade de France, to inaugurate a new youth football pitch belonging to adidas alongside his former team-mates Laurent Blanc, Youri Djorkaeff, Fabien Barthez, Christian Karembeu and Robert Pires.
There have been suggestions that he could take up a role in the dugout at the French national stadium in the near future.
“This team has real potential,” he confessed. “I hope that they go as far as possible and, why not, win the World Cup.”
He also spoke about Kylian Mbappe, a player he was linked with signing last summer.
“He’s fabulous for the age he has,” he reflected.
“You have to let him do what he knows because he will always make the right decision.”
Los Blancos are yet to replace Zidane at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
