Police in Kampala are analysing circumstances including reviewing the CCTV footage to figure out the mastermind in the supermarket robbery which left the bodyguard murdered and large chunks of money stolen.
The released information reveal that on Saturday, six gunmen travelling on motorcycles without number plates broke into the Mperererwe-based supermarket and used a sub-machine gun and a pistol to injure
Pilson Okot, who was the guard at the time of the robbery.
“The suspects were captured by the supermarket CCTV camera. The detectives have the footage and they are analysing it,” Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson Mr Owoyesigyire said
The robbers went ahead to steal a yet to be determined amount from the supermarket and a sum amounting to Shs4.5m from a nearby Mobile Money shop.
Okot died on the way to mulago hospital while a motorist sustained severe injuries as he was shot trying to block the thugs as they fled from the scenes.
