The President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has said that he cannot share power with the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party President, Retired Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye.
While talking to the journalists at his country home in Rwakitura district the President said that he can only share power with a person whose manifesto is similar to his.
Museveni said that there a big contrast between the NRM party manifesto and that of FDC party. He gave examples as; FDC want to provide pupils with food but the NRM pledges to construct classrooms and that FDC wants to introduce federalism and NRM is against it.
He said that with such differences he cannot share power with Dr. Besigye because the country would not have any direction.
In another development, the President said that no one will disrupt his swearing-in on May 12. That anyone who will dare to disrupt the ceremony will be handled accordingly.
Museveni asked people to attend the swearing-in ceremony without fear because his security officers will ensure law and order is observed. He said that entertainment will be in excess at Kololo airstrip therefore youths should not miss the event.
