Journalists protest violence by Uganda security forces

Journalists are angry at the ministers of internal affairs Kirunda Kiveyidinda and the Minister of Information Kabakumba Matsiko who had called them for a press conference to address them on Besigye’s return and what unfolded on his return from Entebbe to Kampala.

Journalists who had earlier resolved to match out on the two ministers at the government manned media centre however missed their chance when the ministers decided not to turn up.

Journalists wanted to protest the beating of journalists by security officers during yesterday’s procession of Besigye who was returning from treatment inNairobi.

Angry reporters held a briefing which was chaired by Uganda human rights journalists association coordinator, Wokulira Ssebagala who referred to the two ministers as timid towards the act by journalists.
