Doctors ask people to shun walk to work protests to avoid contraction of Ebola

The doctors at Mulago Hospital have asked people to postpone the walk to work protests to avoid contracting the Ebola disease which has so far killed one person this month.

Dr Bayiterana Byarugaba says that participants in the walk to work protests have body contacts and the injured are handled without using protective gears which increases chances of contracting Ebola in case some of them have the disease still inactive.

Dr. Byarugaba says that Ebola is a deadly disease because it can clear a big number of people in a day.

Byarugaba told journalists that since a 12 year old girl died on May 6 at the Bombo military hospital, only one person, a health worker at the same hospital has been suspected to have contracted Ebola.
