The Local Council Five Chairperson of Mbale district has warned President Yoweri Museveni against using police and other security agency to humiliate opposition leader Dr. Kiiza Besigye.
Bernard Mujasi a member of the national resistance movement the ruling party says Besigye is using the walk to work protest to highlight the great problems that are currently affecting the entire country.
Mujasi made the remarks during his inauguration ceremony as LCV chairperson. Soroti Municipality Member of Parliament Michael Makula was also present and agreed that Besigye arrests could have been conducted in a more peaceful manner.
The violent arrest of Besigye resulted in a countrywide riot that left an unconfirmed number of people dead.
