The dead body of renegade Col. Edison Muzoora was on May 29 found dumped at his home in Kyabugimbi, Bushenyi district after about nine years of the Colonel’s disappearance.
Information from security organisations indicates that the yet to be identified people with a vehicle knocked at the home gate of the deceased but the occupants feared to open because it was an awkward time of the night.
On waking up in the morning the wife of the deceased and others were shocked to find the dead body of the 9-year lost Col. Muzoora.
The army spokesperson, Col. Felix Kulayigye confirms Muzoora’s death and the amazing appearance of his body saying that the force (UPDF) wanted Muzoora to come alive and get court marshaled for deserting the army.
Late Muzoora was alleged to have self-exiled himself in South Africa and the sources from his family say he talked to the widow, Vasta early this month telling her how he was planning to apply for amnesty to come back home and settle.
Some sources say the dead body whose eyes are plucked out, looks like Muzoora died one or two weeks back and the body was treated, signalizing that Muzoora might have been confined in some place in Uganda since he disappeared.
The police have taken Muzoora’s body to Mbarara referral hospital for post mortem as investigation starts.
Late Muzoora , Col. Samson Monday, Maj. Patrick Muhindo, and Lt. Col. Anthony Kyakabale are alleged to have deserted the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) in 2003 and formed a rebel group known as People’s Redemption Army (PRA) with its base in DR Congo and Rwanda to uninstall President Museveni.
