Members of the new found pressure group known as “the popular resistance against the miss use of powers by the parliamentary committee on appointment” has petitioned the speaker of parliament demanding for her explanation on the legal grounds on which Nasser Ntege Ssebagala’s appointment as the minister without portfolio was rejected.

Addressing journalists the chief coordinator of the group, Zirimara Kigundu said that they expect response from the speaker within only 48 hours saying that failure to do so they are ready to file an appeal to the courts of law.

Zirimala condemned the grounds on which Sebagala,s nominations was rejected as  unlawful saying that he is no longer a criminal since he served his sentence for nine month and came back a reformed man.

He adds that Ssebagala has all the qualifications to become a minister since there are a number of other ministers who were approved by the vetting committee yet they have been also involved in corruption scandals which he said are much more serious than what Sebagala did.

He however said that this is intended to undermine the Muslim community but vowed to fight this to an end.

Ssebagala was last week rejected by the parliamentary appointments committee due to a taited record of Sebagala.
