African leaders have called cooperating partners and the donor community to support Aid for trade program being developed for major corridors in Africa.
The call comes a head of tripartite and inters –governmental authority on development IGAD infrastructure investment conference to be held in Nairobi Kenya from 29th to 30th September 2011 at which priority projects will be presented as well Marinate corridors according to the commune issue at the end of the tripartite summit in South Africa.
The head of state and government leaders on member countries of the sea region economic groupings hat is the common market of east and southern Africa COMESA, east African community and southern African development community SADAC have signed a declaration launching the negotiations for the establishment of the COMESA east African community SADAC tripartite free trade era.
President Yoweri Museveni was among the head of state from east Africa community region group that attended the summit. Others are Mwai Kibaki of Tanzania and Perrier Nkuruziza of Burundi who is also the current chairman of the east African community region economic grouping. Rwanda was represented by Prime Minister Bernard Makuza.
In a statement issued at the end of the summit which was read by the secretary general of the east African community Dr. Richard Sezibwera of Rwanda says the tripartite summit adopted the road map for the establishment of the tripartite negotiating principle process and institution frame work and there by directed the program of work and roadmap be developed on the industrialization pillar.
Regarding on the area of infrastructure development, the tripartite summit noted that progress made in the implementation of infrastructure programs and recommender the international cooperating partners and donor community for the support that was pledged to the north south conference held in Lusaka Zambia in April 2009.
The leaders invited the cooperating partners and donor community to support Aid for trade programs being developed for the other major corridors and in particular the tripartite and inter-governmental authority on development IGAD infrastructure investment conference to be held in Nairobi Kenya 29th /30th September 2011 at which priority projects for these corridors will be presented as well as the maritime corridors.
