Lack of cooperation among local leaders and delayed prosecution have been cited as some of the challenges affecting the operations of the medicine and health services delivery monitoring unit.
The unit was set-up by President Yoweri Museveni following increased out cry of drug shortage in hospitals and other government facilities.
The unit has however suffered resistance from a section of leaders within the health sector with some implicated officials accusing the arrest of innocent individual’s claims it denied.
Speaking to the press in Kampala on Monday the deputy director of the unit Mpata Owagage further cited the ignorance of the masses about their health wise as another challenge which he says will be addressed increased sensitization of the communities.
The unit offices were last week broken into and five computers stolen along with some vital documents.
