Kampala Capital City Authority has set-up a team to investigate and report on the controversies sorrounding regarding the state of Makindye division headquarters.
The probe follows a complaint filed by the Dr. Ian Clark, the Mayor of Makindye division about the poor state of the division headquarters.
Last month Dr. Clark wrote to the executive director of Kampala capital city authority Jenifer Musisi Semakula complaining that the Division offices are not fit for office work.
In his letter Dr. Clark complained about the leaking roof of the division headquarters, lack of toilet facility, sewerage tanks, door shatters and fire extinguishers.
He asked the executive director to investigate the construction of the division headquarters that cost 1 billion shillings.
As a result Musisi sent a team of investigators who discovered that instead of using tiles which were provided for in the bills of quantities, the constructor used 32 gauge iron sheets to roof the division headquarters.
