The leader of opposition also the former Public Accounts Committee chairman Nathan Nandala Mafabi has warned the new committee boss Kasiano Wadri about the challenges ahead of the committee.

During the handover ceremony Mafabi said that during his term of office he faced a lot of challenges which include threats intimidation and backlog. He made emphasis on the backlog saying that it was the committee’s major challenge which needed serious attention.

He also pointed out resistance from the former speaker of parliament to have the committees reports tabled in parliament.

Meanwhile the incoming chairperson of the public accounts committee Kasiano Wadri says that he will use his experience to fight the problem of backlog not only in the committee but also having the committee reports tabled in parliament.

He says that for the five years working as opposition chief whip he has a close relationship with speakers office and therefore that relationship will help him have committee reports tabled
