Some members and supporters of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) in Kampala have threatened to drag the leaders of their party to court over expulsion of the Member of Parliament for Rubaga North, Betty Kamya.
The FDC delegates’ conference recently expelled Kamya over alleged lack of party discipline and insubordination.
The supporters say the suspension of Kamya for six months was enough. Kamya was expelled alongside the MP for Maracha County, Alex Onzima over similar allegations.
The FDC supporters led by Bruce Ayebare have also today demonstrated in Kampala warning FDC of dire consequences if they don’t recall Kamya into the party.
The Police commander for Kampala Metropolitan region, Andrew Sorowen guided the demonstrators against destroying people’s property. Sorowen says it is the right of Ugandans to demonstrate and express disappointment but in a legal and organized manner.
