The 11 hereditary chiefs of Busoga kingdom have today thrown out their newly elected chairperson, Fred Menya Kakaire over alleged irregularities in his election.
Kakaire was elected recently by a section of royal chiefs replacing David Kawunhe Wakooli whom they accused of failing to organize fresh elections for kyabazinga to bring to an end the current leadership wrangles.
However, at a meeting held today at the kingdom headquarters brokered by Kawunhe, the chiefs accused Kakaire of being responsible for the stalled kyabazinga polls.
They also accused Kakaire of refusing to withdraw the court cases that led to the nullification of Prince Edward Columbus Wambuzi’s election as kyabazinga on October 31st 2008.

Kakaire pleaded in vain that he refused to withdraw the court cases because Prince Edward Wambuzi had also declined to counsel his cases in court.
Busoga Kingdom has had no substantive traditional leader since October 2008 after the death of Henry Wako Muloki.
