Government has today released 1.5 billion shillings as a special grant for people with disabilities.

The state minister for the elderly and disabled, Suleiman Madada says the ministry of gender will begin with 48 districts this financial year through which the funds will be channeled to the disabled people.

The money is to be given to groups already engaged in income generating activities on a quarterly basis, and it is expected to reach the intended beneficiaries by the end of May.

Now the MP for disabled in the central region Safia Nalule says time has come for the disabled to make their lives better.
