Police have issued fresh summons to Busiro East Member of Parliament Medard Ssegona to appear before it, for allegedly assaulting former area MP, Suzan Nakawuki.
Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi says police files have already been compiled, adding that Nakawuki has provided five witnesses.
Ssenkumbi says Ssegona is yet to appear at the police.
Last week police summoned Ssegona following a case filed by his predecessor Nakawuki that he slapped her and tore her clothes at Kampala High Court corridors, assisted by one Dick Lukyamuzi.
Ssenkumbi says they have written a letter to the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga requesting her to inform Ssegona to appear at Central Police Station, Kampala on Tuesday at 11:00am to record a statement. But Ssegona did not still turn up today.
In the meantime Police have issued a warrant of arrest against Lukyamuzi, who is alleged to have grabbed Nakawuki’s throat during the reported assault.
