Theodore Ssekikubo asks President Museveni to resign

Outspoken MP for Lwemiyaga county Theodore Sekikubo has called upon the president to start considering resignation if he can’t fight corruption in Uganda.

Addressing a press conference at parliament Sekikubo said that corruption is largely to blame for the current economic woes being experienced in Uganda.

He says many people are getting money without working for it, causing the current high inflation and resultant high prices.

Ssekikubo says that all the efforts to revamp the economy will remain useless if corruption remains un tackled.

He says that it does not make sense for the president to continue lamenting about the corrupt when he continues to dine with many of them.

Ssekukubo says that the economy is sinking not because of many factors but the factor of corruption.

Sekikubo says that institutions established to fight corruption have tried to play their roles but their efforts are being turned by the president’s reluctance. He says that all the money collected from taxes are taken by a few people instead of helping Ugandans.

However, president Museveni yesterday said Uganda’s economy is healthy and growing but a few instabilities being experienced are mainly occasioned by factors beyond Uganda’s control.
