KCCA mayor, his lordship, Elias Lukwago says UTODA should avail the council with its books of accounts to access their income and then determine how much revenue they should remit to the city authority.
In a heated up meeting held today, the mayor and his councilors grilled UTODA’s lawyer Musa Kabega on the financial statements of the embattled taxi governing body which the lawyer resisted to submit to the council but Lukwago insists that failure for UTODA to comply, they will face the law.
Kabega defends his client that they have not intentionally failed to submit in their books of accounts to the council but want to go through correct procedures and will give in their accounts.
In a related development, some councilors are accusing UTODA for playing hide and seek and were calling for a council meeting to make a final council demission on UTODA and the way how public transport in Kampala should be governed.
