The Uganda police force Family and Child Protection unit have launched a campaign Dubbed “Speak Out No Fear” against all forms of violence against women said to be on the increase.
Sexual assault on women and children, rape and defilement are the most common forms of abuse against women and girls, mostly prevalent in rural communities.
In this campaign the police ladies have been giving out flyers and educating bypassers at the Nakumati Round about how to resolve matters in homes than turn to violent means.
They have also erected billboards at the Kampala Nakumati Round bout encouraging people to always run to police to help them resolve domestic issues than turning violent against family members.
The country wide campaign has been launched at the Nakumati round about led by the police commissioner in charge of the child and protection Unit Christine Alalo
