Work at Nyangaka hydro power dam in zambo district has been halted. Media reports say none of the country engineers hired by the government has showed up at the construction site.

Recadal Kosanti the resident engineer of spekon civil construction company says that they have failed to complete the remaining work because of the failure by the mechanical engineers to arrive at the construction site.

He says they had completed about 90% of the civil works.

The work of 10 million dollar Nyangaka Hydro power project was commissioned by president Yoweri Museveni in 2006 and work was expected to have lasted for only one year but the project has dragged on to date.
