Doctors warn against poisonous human bites

Doctors have warned against human bites saying that some of them are so poisonous. Rev. Doctor Mary Margaret Ajiko, a surgeon at Soroti region referral hospital warns that human bites are too dangerous and poisonous because most of them carry germs capable of killing.

Dr. Ajiko says that a mouth is one of the dirtiest parts of a human body after fingers and bums. She says that the victims of human bites risk dying if they do not report to hospitals. She says some human bites are capable of spreading HIV/AIDS.

Dr. Ajiko says that Soroti regional referral hospital has been receiving many cases of people injected as a result of human bites. For instance, Dr. Ajiko says that recently a man in Serere district identified as John Ikwanite from Kyere village died of a human bite.

She also gave another example of Stella Ilugu, 28, also in Serere district who had her arm amputated after a human bite she received from another woman.
