National Consultative Forum conference costs Uganda taxpayers 800 million shillings

The three day National Consultative Forum conference meeting has cost Ugandan taxpayers 800 million shillings. The retreat for members of the National Consultative Forum for Political Parties was held at Lake Victoria Serena hotel.

The retreat kicked off on March 5th and closed on March 7th. It attracted representatives from the Democratic Party, Forum for Democratic Change, Justice Forum, National Resistance Movement, Uganda Peoples Congress and the Conservative Party.

Each of the 40 participants who attended the conference got 500,000 shillings as sitting allowance daily for three days.

The retreat was held under the theme “The role of the National Consultative Forum in supporting political parties copes with challenges in a growing democracy: The Uganda case.”
