Companies in Arab countries look forward to partner with Uganda firms

Companies in Arab countries like Iran, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Egypt are looking forward to partner with Uganda companies in areas of agriculture.

Ronald Ivan Ssemwanga, a Ugandan businessman based in Dubai told our correspondent in Dubai that Arab companies now look at Uganda as their next destination for their businesses and getting low materials like cotton, dairy, meat, tourism, energy, fruit and vegetables.

The Gulf Cooperation Council is keen on sending its representatives to meet Ugandan business community and the government representatives and discuss ways of how Arab companies can partner with Ugandan firms and companies.

The officials of the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) also confirmed that some Arab companies are eyeing to do businesses with Uganda companies. The Arab companies and financial institutions like the Arab Bank for Development in Africa want to do feasibility studies first on the Ugandan investment climate, before they fully invest their capital in Uganda.
