Political activism in Uganda Vs opposition political parties: DP, FDC, Jeema, UPC, CP
By Gerald Businge on May 4, 2012
Activism is way totally different from opposition though opposition members can too be activists and remember not all activists are opposition members. We will refer to previous revolutions around the world. No revolution has ever been successful leaning on opposition parties, organisations or people in opposition.
It is students, youth’s groups or workers that make revolutions a success. A vivid example is Al baladai joining activists he was asked to advise them but not participate directly. Activists must spread the word and be up for sacrifice. Activism needs youth, students and workers. Activists if united and well coordinated can change president Museveni’s regime in a matter of months.
When opposition members are disguised as activists, it makes it easy for governments in power to smear them because they are leaning on political parties.
“Low thinkers” will see it in the face as true since its usual suspects in opposition a agitating for regime change even after these people have participated in elections. World over activists are asked to desist from using their political parties in fighting for quick regime change.
