The Conservation Leadership Programme Awards: The Conservation Leadership Programme offers continuation funding, which is available only to previous Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP) (formally BPCP) award winners, in the form of Conservation Follow-up and Conservation Leadership Awards.

Applications for continuation funding will only be considered once a full report has been received for the initial projects.

Conservation Follow-up Awards are aimed at exceptional teams with individuals who want to address a conservation issue raised by recommendations in a project the programme has previously supported.

The project should allow team members to go beyond basic surveying, analysis and awareness-raising, and develop their networking, education, decision-making, policy, communication and conservation leadership skills and experience.

There are approximately 5 of these awards on offer annually, each worth up to $25,000 each.

As part of the award, one member from each team is selected to represent their project at the Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP)’s international training course and the International Congress of Conservation Biology (ICCB).

The training is aimed at developing innovative project management, education, facilitation and communication skills.

Attendance at the annual International Congress of Conservation Biology (ICCB) enables participants to link to a strong, professional network, facilitating future international collaboration.

The Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP) has been helping young conservationists to achieve their goals and move into positions of influence within the conservation sector, and marks the 25th Anniversary of this highly successful program! Successful applicants will: Develop the knowledge, skills and abilities of team members; Implement high-priority conservation projects combining research and action; and Contribute to the long-term success of local conservation efforts.

Awards:

This year’s awards include:

  • Future Conservationist Awards: Approximately 20 awards of up to $12,500 each
  • Conservation Follow-up Awards: Approximately 5 awards of up to $25,000 each
  • Conservation Leadership Awards: 2 awards of up to $50,000 each.

Deadline: 6th November.
