Sudhir’s building kills woman

Grief and shock took over Kiyembe Market lane inKampalatoday when the roof of a building that was under construction collapsed and its debris instantly killed a tailor.

The police and the traders identified the deceased as Juliet Nabukenya, 25 and a resident of Masanafu in Rubaga division. She survived with two kids and a husband.

The building whose debris killed ms Nabukenya is next to Avemar Shopping Centre onLuwum   Street. The building was caved in following a heavy rain that fell inKampalathis morning.

Two other people were also injured in this accident and they were taken toMulagoHospital in critical condition.

Ephraim Turinawe, the site engineer, disappeared immediately after the accident had occurred. We were told that the building belongs to EKSON (U) Limited, a company owned by business tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia.

The police suspects that inadequate Cement was used leading to the collapse of the building that killed Juliet Nabukenya, a claim Sudhir refutes.
