Former Vice President Prof. Gilbert Bukenya seems to be making final touches for the country’s top political seat. This is all subject to the retreat meeting by the Buganda caucus MPs which sat at his hotel in Entebbe.
Bukenya seems to be enjoying the souring situation between the Buganda Kingdom (Mengo), the Catholic Church and the government. And we are told the former Vice President is most likely to capitalize on this to stampede his bid for the top seat.
We are told Bukenya has began this by rallying all Buganda caucus MPs behind him. It is said that during this meeting, the president called the chairman of Buganda MP caucus Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi to inquire about what was the agenda of the meeting.
