The good news perhaps to motorists and drivers today is that at least 10 trucks loaded with fuel have arrived in Kampala and they have been seen filling Col. Kiiza Besigye’s petrol stations in Nsambya, Namirembe road and Mengo Kisenyi.
This fuel has arrived in Kampala at the time when Uganda is experiencing fuel shortages. The fuel shortage has been reportedly caused by the fuel shipper Gulf Energy, a Kenyan gas station operator and fuel importer, which won the tender to supply fuel cargo to Ugandan companies. It is said that this oil company has not started doing its part well.
The fuel shipper failed to deliver the oil supply on time, thus causing the fuel shortages. There is fuel in Kenya but other suppliers of oil say that they have no rights to sell fuel in Uganda.
The survey our informers did in different parts of the country, Total Uganda. Kobil, Rio Oil, and City oil filling stations had increased the pump prices of petrol from 3,550 shillings to 3, 900 shillings.
