We have landed on very important information that some people in the ruling National Resistance Movement government are supporting Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu to takeover the party presidency from Col. Kiiza Besigye.

But many FDC supporters sound happy that Muntu is going to bring lots of NRM supporters to FDC. Muntu, though he is in FDC, he is still a darling of many NRM cadres.

The problem is that the FDC supporters from eastern Uganda argue that it is their time for a party President to come from Eastern Uganda.

The FDC supporters back MP Nandala Mafabi for the party president, arguing that Nandala worked a lot to deliver 3 MPs from Sironko, Mbale, Sebei, Jinja and many other areas. Some members of FDC from Buganda also back Nandala for party presidency because Muntu and Col. Kiiza Besigye are coming from the same region.
