A section of members of parliament is asking that officials of the Bank of Uganda too be questioned by police over the alleged financial misappropriation reported in the various different ministries.
Ajuri county mp Denis Obua Hamson is one of those who argue that under the current system no ministry spends money without the approval of the ministry of finance and Central Bank and therefore officials from the two entities should be questioned first.
He says that police is moving in the right direction with the ongoing investigations giving hope that the culprits shall be brought to book.
Six officials from the Ministry of Finance were on Wednesday interrogated over the alleged financial scandals in the Office of the Prime Minister and Public Service ministry.
Police are investigating government officials in different ministries in relation to the Shs63b allegedly paid to ghost pensioners.
They are also investigating Shs15.7 billion suspected irregular advances to personal accounts, and forgery of signatures in the OPM.
