Cancerous tumours cause hydrocele

Effects of hydrolectomy: It is a surgical procedure to remove a hydrocele. A hydrocele is a collection of fluid in the casing that holds the tests.

A hydrocelectomy is done to ease pain or the reoccurrence of a hydrocele. Usually, a hydrocele is not painful, and as it grows, the scrotum gets larger, but doesn’t damage the testes.

A hydrocele can affect both children and adults. In children, the condition is caused by afailure of the processus vaginalis to close. Surgery is not necessary untill after two years of age because the processus vaginalis usually closes itself.

In adults, hydroceles develop slowly, mostly because of a blocked lymphatic flow. Hydrocele could also develop after infection, injury or cancerous tumours.

Hydrocele can reoccur, though in rare instances. After treatment of a hydrocele, a patient is able to resume most activities with in 7-10 days, although lifting heavy objects and sexual activity may be delayed for up to 6 weeks. So don’t be worried. But see a surgeon for examination.
