The general public has been notified to contract marriage at the government chief administrative officers’ offices across the country. The women and men in Uganda, according to the memo about to be released by the offices concerned, Ugandans should register their marriages under the marriage act.

But in case of registration, should anybody be in possession of information that can legally bar couples’ intentions to contract marriage, they have to inform the offices concerned immediately such marriages are advertised.

The moment there is no concern raised, the registrars go ahead to register such marriages. The Chief Administrative Officer of Wakiso, David Naluwayiro says if no caveat is placed on peoples intentions to register marriages, the government goes ahead to register such marriages.
