The opposition in parliament is set to take on several activities to expose the ill motives behind what they call irregular election of representatives of the Professional bodies for the composition of the Kampala Capital City Authority.

The office of the leader of Opposition in Parliament alleges that there an illegal and rushed move to elect representatives of the Professional Bodies to the Authority to ensure its full composition in order to impeach the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago.

The allegation is based on an earlier court ruling that the Authority could not impeach the Lord Mayor because it was not fully constituted.

Reading the statement on behalf of the Leader of Opposition, the shadow Information Minister Ssemujju Ibrahim Nganda said that the Electoral Commission is not following the procedures of nominating the candidates and their eventual election.

Nganda further noted that even the professional bodies of engineers, lawyers, Architects and Medical fraternity to be represented on the Kampala Capital City Authority are not aware of the whole process.

He further criticized the procedures including the change of election dates by the Electoral Commission from the 19th to 15th of November.

Meanwhile Nganda noted that the opposition is to engage the relevant bodies, public and the diplomatic society to highlight the irregularities and the bad motive of what he can the Museveni Machinations.
